Melissa May is running for U.S. Congress in California's 35th district to serve the families and communities of Chino, Eastvale, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, and Upland.

Melissa May is running for U.S. Congress to fight for real, meaningful changes in our community. With her experience as an educator, director and community organizer, she has the leadership skills to tackle some of the toughest issues facing this district. 

Melissa May graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California. She received her bachelor's degree from California State University, Chico, and her master's in education from National University. Her career experience includes working as a science teacher and English language immersion specialist in Alexandria City Public Schools. May founded the Art and Science Cultural Center and the local chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), both in Ontario. In 2022, May was elected to the Mountain View School Board before moving out of the district to care for her mom after the passing of her father from lung cancer and congestive heart failure. As of 2021, May has served as a governor appointee to the board of directors for the 28th Agricultural District of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. 

Melissa May, a lifelong resident of the Inland Valley, understands the issues of our community and is prepared to serve with integrity, dedication, and compassion. 

She has expertise in creating powerful solutions for real-world problems. She knows that together we can overcome any challenge thrown at us—in creating jobs, making sure people have access to quality healthcare, raising wages for all workers, tackling the climate crisis head-on, the importance of investing in education.
